Wednesday 12th September 2007
It is with a heavy heart that I send this email and regret to announce
that I will be indefinitely postponing the SMB Focus 2007 Conference
Event originally scheduled for November.
A number of business and personal reasons have led to making this
difficult decision.
I know that many of you have already booked flights
to Sydney for the event, and any loss you might suffer from cancelling
them weighs heavily I can assure you. I will be issuing a full
refund of the conference and any accommodation booked through the
Menzies Hotel and by some way of apology offer you a complimentary
years’ subscription to SBSfaq.com.
These actions will be complete by the end of next week.
The support and devotion that you have shown, the
sponsors who are committed to supporting our community and the
participation of international speakers has been outstanding and
although this particular event will not be taking place, it has only
deepened my commitment to the community.
Plans to run a special edition Sydney User Group
with international presence is still under discussion, I will keep the
community informed of progress.
In addition to this, TrendMicro have indicated that
within the next 24 hours they will be able to confirm that they are
going to hold a Security focused community event on Friday 23rd November
at The Menzies hotel in Sydney - the same location that was previously
to be used for the SMBfocus Conference Event. Information will be
posted here and on SBSFaq.com once it becomes available.
I appreciate your understanding and support and
look forward to meeting you all at some point in time. If you have
any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me directly.
